Yoga is an excellent form of exercise for our bodies as well as our minds. Recent scientific studies have concluded that yoga and meditation improve cognition and memory as well as reduce stress and anxiety. Scripture Yoga provides a Christian environment for Yoga to be performed. It is ideal for beginners as well as intermediate yoga students and teachers.
This book is a short read with several sections. First, the author, Susan Neal, begins with how she developed the form of Christian yoga called Scripture Yoga. Included is a chapter on how to memorize Scripture. Next, over 60 yoga poses with full page photographs and descriptions are followed by 21 chapters of Bible lessons which correspond with a yoga class.
The book ends with a chapter on “Scrutiny of Yoga” which answers questions and concerns that Christians may have regarding performing yoga. Overall, this is a great Christian yoga resource book for anyone who likes to do yoga but would like to perform it in a Christian environment.
